This series of wax facial casts of my Son, seeks to visually describe the process known as ‘Chimerism’ an exceptional immunogenetic state whereby a host body has bone marrow/stem cells completely replaced by a donor as the result of a transplant to treat blood diseases.

Charting the process from the viewpoint of a mother, both appalled and fascinated in equal measure. The piece is ten individual wax faces fused to acrylic panels and seated on an LED Light box.

My work was pre-selected for the Royal West of England Open Exhibition in 2014.
