Encaustic Collograph

Inspired by the work of Elise Wagner, I am experimenting with wax and printmaking  to take my inspirations in texture and pattern to another level. Encaustic collograph is a unique method of creating a collograph plate using specially formulated encaustic wax. The combination of drypoint and encaustic wax on a plexiglas plate, gives super textural abstract prints. Using a Gunning Studio Press 1 from Ironbridge Framing and Fine Arts in Shropshire, UK (www.ironbridgeframing.co.uk), an encaustic collograph can be produced and printed in one session, unlike traditional collograph printing.
